Jafet Castro-Reyes, who has mental disabilities, is suing Opa-locka Police after they severely harmed him during an arrest in September 2020. Castro-Reyes’ family had called for professional assistance in calming him down and he was already restrained when police arrived. However, police abused him and used a stun gun on him multiple times. A lawsuit has been filed against the police department for the incident.
